This Thursday, Pérez Museum of Art Miami (1103 Biscayne Blvd., Miami) will host the Miami premiere of Curtain, a performance piece featuring artist Daniel Arsham and choreographer Jonah Bokaer. The performance comprises three dance pieces: two solos performed by Bokaer and a duet specifically choreographed for contemporary dancers. Arsham, fresh off his show at Locust Projects, and Bokaer are longtime collaborators. Arsham’s sculptures and Bokaer’s movement interact in the piece, challenging the lines between static sculpture and movement, between art and dance. Curtain is meant to tease out these often contradictory concepts, to find both their tension and resolution, to never fully be “on one side of or the other of the metaphoric curtain.”
Curtain will be performed at 2 and 7 p.m. Performances are free to attend, but registration is suggested. Email education@pamm.org or visit pamm.org.
