$10,000

Charlie Crist took a pretty public drubbing for his summer jaunt to Europe that ended up costing taxpayers $430,000. You’d think he’d have learned his lesson.

Crist will be heading to D.C. to attend the Obama’s inauguration and hasn’t yet decided if taxpayers will be footing the bill. Meanwhile, our Democratic CFO and potential 2010 Senate or gubernatorial candidate Alex Sink will also be heading up for the festivities, but has announced most of the costs will be paid for with personal money and perhaps some party money.

Crist’s European trip was official state business, though many critics saw it as a VP tour, but partying it up during one of Washington’s biggest weeks is less likely to bring benefits to Floridians. Most likely, Crist will be shoring up support for his re-election and perhaps planting the seeds of a prez run. Meanwhile, Sink will almost certainly be chatting about her own electoral future.
