With 1 day left in our spring campaign, we have a new $10,000 goal!
New Times members have already contributed more than $8,000 - can you help us hit our new goal and keep New Times free and in print every week? If New Times matters to you, please take action and contribute today.
Hanukkah starts a week from Saturday, December 8. Screw the song, We have a new favorite take on the holiday. Bubala Please is a new Jewish cooking show on YouTube and the first episode is (of course) a tutorial on making latkes.
But if you think some little white haired bubbe is doing the frying, you’re dead wrong. As in “pop a cap in that shit” wrong. The co-hosts of the show are none other than Jaquann and Luis, two self-proclaimed Los Angeles gang-bangers who, on the verge of taking each other out, discovered they were both members of the “tribe.”
And, like all good Jews, they’d rather eat than fight — hence the cooking
demo. Jaquann and Luis show us how to make latkes (hint: shank those
muthaf**kin’ potatoes and OJ those bitches) before retiring to the
alleyway to play a little dreidel for gelt.
Laugh your tuchas off at this amazing video and but be warned: there are a lot of curses so, in the words of Jaquann and Luis, “keep the kinder out of the room”.
