April showers not only bring May flowers — they bring a host of new restaurants to Miami. This month’s highlights were AQ by Acqualina, where chef Dewey LoSasso is making his new restaurant in the five-diamond resort local-friendly and Shikany, the long-awaited restaurant that offers degustation menus of upwards of a dozen courses.

South Beach was hit hard by the closing of two long-time residents. David’s Cafe shuttered its doors after nearly four decades of serving coladas to locals and tourists alike, and TiramesU closed its Lincoln Road spot — but is planning to relocate back to SoFi in the Fall.

We’ve also got lots to look forward to, with the announcement of Mignonette, an oyster bar by Danny Serfer and Ryan Roman; and the reopening of Uncle Tom’s Barbecue, complete with a strong nod to its iconic past.
