"I'm one of those hopeless romantics who cries at the end of every love story," says Adrianne Calvo, who opened Chef Adrianne’s almost 12 years ago. "No matter what trends come and go, we stick with the food we love here."
To compile the list, Yelp identified restaurants on its platform with the greatest number of reviews mentioning the words “romantic,” “Valentine’s Day,” and “date night.” Those spots were ranked using various factors, including the total volume and ratings of reviews mentioning the relevant keywords. Yelp limited the list to two restaurants per metro area to ensure geographic diversity.
"Receiving this honor is so coincidental because I have a couple coming into the restaurant with their three daughters to celebrate a birthday," Calvo says. "But when they first dined here, it was before they were married or had any children. They even say this is the restaurant where they fell in love."
Chef Adrianne’s always displays a bouquet of fresh red roses at the center of the dining room. Plus, Calvo places emphasis on the music and kind of fare she serves. "It all goes hand-in-hand," she says.
"The food, music, and atmosphere are all meant to make you feel something," she says. "I love the cozy, white-tablecloth vibe where I can drink wine and be surrounded by flowers with someone I love. And now, to be recognized on a national level is a huge honor."
As for Pane & Vino, this isn't the first national award the restaurant has earned in the past 12 months. In December, the South Beach eatery was named best restaurant in the nation for everyday dining, according to TripAdvisor.
