Salty Donut’s Knaus Berry Doughnut Makes Triumphant Return to SoFlo

After a few years' hiatus, the Salty Donut is reigniting one of its most beloved creations — the iconic sticky bun doughnut made in collaboration with Knaus Berry Farm — in celebration of the Miami-based shop's 10th anniversary. The return marks the first step in the Salty Donut's "#RoadTo10," a series of special events leading up to the company's milestone anniversary this December.

For one weekend only — from Friday, February 28 through Sunday, March 2 — the legendary sticky bun doughnut will once again be available at the Salty Donut's Wynwood, South Miami, and Coconut Grove locations, giving fans a chance to revisit one of the shop's most popular mashups.

Bigger, Stickier, and Richer Than Any Other Salty Donut Creation

The Knaus Berry sticky bun, introduced nearly a decade ago, features Knaus Berry Farm's signature sticky bun encased inside the Salty's 24-hour brioche dough. After wrapping the homemade cinnamon bun in the dough, it's fried, baked, and topped with a salted caramel glaze and cinnamon sugar. For those who haven't tried this mouthwatering creation, it's essentially a cinnamon roll stuffed inside a doughnut — bigger, stickier, and richer than any other Salty Donut creation, nearly twice the size of the shop's regular doughnuts.

The iconic doughnut mashup originally debuted in March 2016. It was the first time the Salty Donut and Knaus Berry Farm, both known for outrageously long lines of customers, teamed up to make their most gluttonous treat to date — which, naturally, resulted in even longer lines. The creation has been a runaway success ever since.

However, while the original partnership featured Knaus Berry Farm's famous cinnamon rolls, in recent years, The Salty Donut began making their own cinnamon rolls in-house. Now, they're bringing back Knaus Berry Farm's iconic cinnamon rolls for this highly anticipated return.

This oversized treat has drawn long lines in years past, and with its return, those lines are expected to be just as, if not more, intense. To get an early taste, Salty Donut rewards members will get exclusive access to the sticky bun doughnuts on Thursday, February 27, with double rewards points for online orders placed through the Salty Donut app and website.
