Nearly six years ago, Delicias de España, one of Miami's longest-standing Spanish restaurants, was forced to close its original flagship South Miami location along the corner of Bird Road and Red Road after a fire.

But its owners, Ernesto Llerandi and his wife, Isabel Miranda, swore to rebuild. Over the years, they opened two other locations — one in South Miami by Tropical Park and the other in Downtown Dadeland.

Now, those who have missed its original location will be thrilled to discover the market and restaurant will open a brand new location along Sunset Drive in the downtown area of the City of South Miami.

While there's no opening date yet, the soon-to-come Sunset outpost is located next to Sunset Cobbler and Misha's Cupcakes along Sunset Drive in the heart of the city of South Miami.

Founded in 1997, Delicias de España, which directly translates to "Delights from Spain," is known for its authentic representation of Spanish cuisine and culture in Miami. Longtime customers typically frequent its market to find Spanish delicacies that are hard to find in South Florida. Its bakery section is also legendary, with options like tarta Gijonesa, mousse de mango, and tarta de queso.

The market-café-bakery hybrid is stocked with imported gourmet products, both packaged and fresh. Some highlights include artisan olive oils, an assortment of cheeses, high-quality serrano hams, and even authentic jamonero ham holders.

Delicias de España continues to serve the community at its two other locations: Delicias Bird Road at 7384 SW 40th St., Miami, and Delicias Dadeland at 8950 SW 74th Ct., Ste. 101, Miami.
