Jugofresh Coral Gables Rolls Out Juicecream Vegan Ice Cream

It's summer, and sizzling summer temps call for ice cream. But not everyone is into cow's milk and processed sugar. For Miamians looking for a healthier frozen treat, Jugofresh in Coral Gables just rolled out its newest invention: Juicecream.

A mix of Jugofresh juice, coconut meat, and dates, Juicecream is all natural. It comes in two serving sizes, can be whipped up four different ways, and has six topping options. Call it Dairy Queen for healthy eaters.

Juicecream comes in small ($6.50) and large ($8.50) and in the following four juice varieties: el green go get gûrin (apple, cucumber, celery, romaine, kale, spinach, E3Live, lemon, and parsley); matcha verde piña verde (apple, pineapple, cucumber, celery, pear, kale, spinach, parsley, sunflower, sprout, mint, ginger, green tea matcha powder, lime, and spirulina powder); melon à trois pastèque y menta (watermelon, mint, cucumber, honeydew, cantaloupe, and lime); and verano delicado P.A.M.pered ginger (apple, pineapple, coconut meat, coconut water, orange, strawberry, mint, ginger, and macs extract).

Topping options include cookie dough (made with oat flour, cashew meal, chocolate chips, water, flax meal, coconut palm sugar, coconut oil, vanilla extract, coconut flour, coconut palm nectar), superberry mix, sweet cacao nibs, blueberry, strawberry, and pineapple.

"Juicecream was really inspired by the idea of catering to vegans who might miss yogurt or soft serve and hate processed sugar-filled sorbet. It's a universal option for people who want something truly natural, chemical-free, and unprocessed," says Matthew Sherman, Jugofresh co-founder.

As far as how it compares to regular ice cream, its ingredients make all the difference, says the team.

"Standard ice cream features tons of hidden ingredients while Juicecream features simply three: our fresh, organic cold-pressed juice, young Thai coconut meat, and Medjool dates," says the company's health and nutrition educator Rachel Novetsky. "Ours is not only a healthy dessert alternative, but it's healthy enough to be a breakfast option or simply a snack. Juicecream is nut-free, sugar-free, dairy-free, non-GMO, and features all ingredients you can pronounce."

Juicecream is available at Jugofresh Coral Gables only, 2516 Ponce de Leon Blvd.
