Carnival Cruise Lines announced that it will partner with Food Network host and author Guy Fieri to bring Fieri's concept of a roadside burger joint to life.
Guy's Burger Joint will feature Fieri's creations, as well as a variety of sauces ranging from chipotle mayonnaise and a special barbecue sauce to garlic aioli and three hot sauces. Seasonings like garlic and herb, sea salt and hot chili also will be offered, along with a selection of toppings such as sauteed mushrooms, grilled onions, blue cheese crumbles and vine-ripened tomatoes.
The burgers will be made available to cruisers at no additional charge as part of their cruise experience.
The joints will be located on pool deck and will be decorated like a
garage, with spare car parts. Servers will wear shop coveralls.
The joint will open on the Carnival Liberty (October 2011),
Carnival Breeze (June 2012), Carnival Conquest (October 2012), Carnival Glory (November 2012).
Guy's Burger Joint is part of a $500 million refurbishment of the Miami-based cruise
line's food and entertainment program. Other additions include comedy clubs by
George Lopez, Blue Iguana Tequila Bar, and Alchemy bar, which features
molecular cocktails.
