Hours: Monday through Friday, 5-7 p.m.

Deals: Five-six-seven bar menu features cocktails, wine and appetizers for $6 until 7 p.m.

Scene: Steakhouses, especially ones with pricy menus like Fleming's, are not usually the place to go find good happy hour deals. But this Gables steakhouse breaks ranks with its meat brethren during its "Five for Six until Seven" special.

It's corny, we know, and you can still make fun of it if you'd like, but do so while you're enjoying a selection of five specialty cocktails or wines, a similar number of appetizers or Fleming's Prime Burger with Cheese and Bacon, all for six bucks until 7 p.m. And, in case your wondering, the portions are the same as on the regular menu.

Fleming's also distinguishes itself from Alpha steakhouses, with décor featuring softer wood tones than the typical dark stained steakhouses. It's meant to be more sophisticated and appealing to women, which in turn will bring more of those meathead men. More lady pandering can be found onthe cocktail list which features a Bikinitini with only 99 calories and comes with three mini-marshmallows instead of olives. Man enough to try it?

Conclusion: This Fleming's took some heat from the Miami New Times recently when we outed the chef/partner was a vegetarian. If you can't get over the dude whose cooking your meat, not willing to eat it, that's your business. But if you're looking for an upscale happy hour to enjoy cocktails and quick eats you could do a lot worse in the Gables than Fleming's.
