Famed Pretzel Shop to Open First South Florida Location

One of America's most beloved pretzel brands is setting up shop inside Macy's at Dadeland Mall. Wetzel's Pretzels, famous for its golden-brown twists and Southern California-inspired vibes, is bringing its crave-worthy snacks to South Miami. The new location, which has not yet released an opening date, continues Wetzel's rollout into Macy's stores across the country, offering shoppers a sweet and salty pick-me-up right in the middle of their retail therapy.

From the buttery, classic original pretzel to sweet cinnamon sugar twists, Wetzel's serves up its doughy delights fresh from the oven. Every pretzel is hand-rolled and baked on-site, giving customers that signature smell that hits before you even spot the stand. Most pretzels come slicked in butter and salt, though non-buttered versions are available, too.

The menu features Wetzel's fan favorites, including the original pretzel, cinnamon sugar twist, and the Wetzel dog, a warm, golden pretzel wrapped around a savory hot dog. Also available are "Wetzel Bitz," bite-sized nuggets perfect for snacking or sharing, served in varieties like buttered, cinnamon sugar, and pizza. Guests can pair their pretzels with a selection of dips, including cheddar cheese, jalapeño cheese, caramel, and cream cheese.

This new location is owned by Sherine Metayer, a Miami-Dade native, business professor at Miami-Dade College, and first-time franchisee.

"Bringing a new Wetzel's Pretzels location to Macy's at Dadeland Mall is a momentous step forward for my family and me, allowing us to share Wetzel's with even more people," she said. "Being inside Macy’s makes it even easier for guests to enjoy our delicious pretzels on the go. I look forward to growing alongside the brand and bringing more pretzels to the people."

Founded in Pasadena, California, in 1994, Wetzel's has built a cult-like following across more than 400 locations, including theme parks, arenas, and now major department stores. The Dadeland opening follows successful launches at South Coast Plaza in California and other Macy's flagships.
