Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer, the award-winning New York import known for its towering milkshakes and over-the-top burgers, has abruptly shuttered its Brickell location less than a year after opening. The closure came without warning: no public announcement, no farewell message, and no note on the door. However, the Brickell address seems to be removed from Black Tap's website, and Yelp lists the location as closed.

The restaurant, which made its Florida debut in August 2024 on the fourth floor of Brickell City Centre, was positioned next to the CMX movie theater and boasted a sprawling patio, a moody dining room, and a bar pouring local beers and cocktail creations. Within months, it had partnered with Fireman Derek's Bake Shop for a viral key lime pie shake and introduced Miami-exclusive items like a sofrito-slathered "Frita Cubana" burger.

At the time, Black Tap co-founder Julie Mulligan said the team "couldn't wait for locals and visitors to enjoy our unique take on a classic burger joint."

But that excitement appears to have fizzled. The location is now marked "permanently closed" on Google, and phone calls go unanswered.

The unexpected shutdown comes despite the brand's expansion ambitions. The Brickell outpost was Black Tap's first in Florida and one of several in the U.S., with international locations from Dubai to Switzerland and even Iraq. In Brickell, however, the taps have gone dry and the boombox booth has gone silent, leaving fans and milkshake devotees wondering what went wrong.

Black Tap Craft Burgers currently has locations in New York, California, Nevada, Tennessee, and Texas.
