Whether you love foamy cappuccinos, black Americanos, almond milk lattes with a splash of vanilla, cortaditos, cafecitos, or a whole dang colada, Miamians love their coffee.

Caffeine is a way of life in the Magic City, and we take our coffeehouses and coffee shops very seriously. Local favorite Brewing Buddha Cafe & Arthouse in Pinecrest makes some of the best coffee in South Florida. Founded by brothers Cassidy and Jordan Athos in 2017, the laidback brewhouse is one of the only neighborhood hangouts in the area, which has solidified its reputation as a locals-only gem. It's part cozy coffee shop, part eclectic art gallery, part zen zone, and its regulars can't get enough. The shop is popular for its freshly brewed coffee made of coffee beans it roasts in house and its handmade, unique coffee syrup flavors.

Founded in 1997, Miami's oldest coffeehouse is still one of the very best. Café Demetrio in Coral Gables has everything that makes a coffeehouse special. The atmosphere, with its wooden interior, tall windows, and courtyard, is comfortable and pleasing to the eye. The spot has an extensive coffee selection that runs from espresso to caramel lattes. Plus, the menu is wonderful for breakfast or brunch — from the Belgian Monte Cristo sandwich and multiple eggs Benedicts to French toast sliders and huevos rancheros, Café Demetrio is a Miami staple for a reason.

Coconut Grove's newest neighborhood coffeehouse has already become a staple for locals who flock as early as 8 a.m. for freshly brewed coffee, lattes, and breakfast. The Counter Culture coffee brewed here is truly the best in Coconut Grove, and the matcha is off the charts. Plus, the breakfast and lunch menu is fantastic, including its egg sandwich with pasture-raised eggs and Flour & Weirdoughs brioche. In addition to the drinks and bites, the mellow and modern vibes make it the perfect hangout (but expect long lines on the weekends and to run into your entire Grove yoga class).

Façade, a new bakery that opened in the former Dr Smood space on Giralda Avenue in Coral Gables, doesn't reveal much from the outside — a tinted glass door, a subtle sign, and a certain air of mystery. But step inside, and you're greeted by the inviting scent of freshly baked bread and a minimalist, Scandinavian-inspired design that could be straight out of Copenhagen. The seeded sourdough here is a local star, as well as the corn milk it uses in beverages. Plus, the bakery's "less-is-more" philosophy extends from the menu to the space itself.

Navi is a coffee and flower shop that recently opened in Coconut Grove. The quaint and cute space was founded by Miami native Razzy Ghomeshi. From the decorations to its name, Ghomeshi found a way to let his passion translate into the space. Here, guests have two standing spaces by the windows where they can enjoy the coffee, but outside, there are chairs and a small side garden to sit in and enjoy. As for the menu, guests can find a simple coffee, tea, and pastry menu made with ingredients that highlight Ghomeshi's cultural background. The lattes, matcha, cookies, and pistachio pastries are a must-try.
