How many Vontaes are there in the world? How many of those have the last name Davis? Well, if there happens to be more than one, Miami Dolphins first-round draft pick Vontae Davis wants you to know he wasn't the Vontae Davis who was arrested earlier this month in Champaign, Illinois, for vehicular noise and driving with a suspended license. In fact, he suspects identity theft.
On June 9, police arrested a man carrying an ID stating his name was "Vontae Ottis Davis," with the address listed as the Dolphins Davis's grandmother's home in Washington, D.C. Davis and the Dolphins say that's impossible because he was at training camp that day.
Davis attended college at the University of Illinois in Champaign.
