Independent Journalism in Miami Needs You
We need to raise $10,000 by August 9 to support the reporting our community depends on. Reader support keeps us independent and is playing a larger role in funding local journalism and shaping what comes next. If you believe independent local journalism matters, make a contribution today.
We now live a world where you can’t even bring large amounts of gel on an airplane, so you’d think that every passenger would make sure they wouldn’t bring their gun with them through airport security. Though, apparently two people were stopped at Miami International Airport today with in minutes of each other for trying to bring a gun through security.
The first man was found with a gun around 10:30 a.m. this morning going through security at the American Airlines terminal. The guy apparently used the old “whoops, accidentally forgot my gun in my bag” excuse. He did have a permit to carry it though. He wasn’t arrested, but was released after questioning and will appear in court.
Just minutes later another person walked through the same terminal with a gun. There’s no details on that incident yet. Though, authorities say they aren’t related.
