Gerdine Edouard Rooted For 11-Year-Old Daughter in Fight, Then Joined In

It's really important for parents to encourage their children to pursue their interests and, ideally, even get involved in activities with their kids. Unless those activities are things like fighting.

Twenty-six-year-old Gerdine Edouard is accused of driving to her 11-year-old daughter's elementary school, encouraging her to get into a physical fight with another girl of the same age.

Edouard was apparently upset that her daughter had beef with another student at Linda Lentin Elementary School in northeast Miami-Dade.

"She drove to the school with a suspended license and before going into the school, she observed the other student that she was there to speak to the administration about, and she decided to take matters into her own hands," Miami-Dade Schools Police Sergeant Ivan Silva told WSVN.

When Edouard arrived at the school, she found her daughter and the other girl and encouraged her daughter to start beating the other girl up. Though, when it appeared the other girl has the upper-hand Edouard jumped in and slapped the girl herself.

"She kept accusing me of stuff," the victim, Kalea Martin, told the news station. "She put her two hands in my face and was like, 'Why did you jump on my daughter the other day?' Then her mom jumped in and hit me two times on the back of my neck."

Edouard has been arrested and charged with battery for hitting the other girl and two counts of child abuse for encouraging her daughter to fight in the first place. She has been ordered to have no contact with her daughter if she bonds out of jail.
