All of the north and southbound lanes of US 1 in Miami were closed Wednesday morning after a hit-and-run crash left one motorist dead.

The driver of a silver-colored Honda, a women believed to be in her seventies, was killed when a white pickup truck struck her vehicle, causing her to crash into a tree at Southwest 17th Avenue at around 6:30 a.m.

The crash possibly lead to a second accident near the scene, police said. No one was injured in that crash.

Police are looking for the driver of the pickup.

U.S. 1 from Southwest 17th Avenue to 22nd Avenue has been closed off until further notice. Motorists should take Bayshore Drive or Coral Way.
