Ex-Heat Star Antoine Walker Files for Bankruptcy

While his ex-fiance Evelyn Lozada is living it up on the hit show Basketball Wives, former Heat star Antoine Walker has filed for bankruptcy. The forward helped the Heat secure their 2006 NBA championship, but his professional life has faltered ever since.

The bankruptcy was filed last week in the Southern District of Florida. It claims that Walker only has $4.3 million in assets and $12.7 million in liabilities. According to the AP, included in the assets is his championship ring, which was valued at $6,000.

Last summer Walker was charged with three felonies after writing bad checks to three separate Las Vegas casinos to cover gambling debts in excess of $800,000.

Walker was traded from the Heat to the Timberwolves in 2007, and then to the Grizzlies in 2008 where he was waved after appearing in now regular season games. He currently plays for the Guaynabo Mets, a BSN team in Puerto Rico where it's been reported he makes little more than $6,000 a week. Though, recent reports suggest he was trying to make a comeback in the NBA.
