Independent Journalism in Miami Needs You
We need to raise $10,000 by August 9 to support the reporting our community depends on. Reader support keeps us independent and is playing a larger role in funding local journalism and shaping what comes next. If you believe independent local journalism matters, make a contribution today.
Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade has filmed a dancing cameo in an upcoming ensemble comedy based on What To Expect When You’re Expecting. Yes, an NBA star is dancing in a Love Actually-style ensemble movie based on a popular non-fiction pregnancy guide because Hollywood is horrible and out of ideas.
Wade filmed the scene in August, according to The Palm Beach Post, and apparently the required dance moves were so intricate he had to take lessons from So You Think You Can Dance choreographer Tyce Diorio. Apparently he plays himself competing on a Dancing With the Stars-style show.
Hopefully his moves have improved since he held a dance off with LeBron James during a charity event back in 2008.
The cameo won’t be Wade’s first. He’s also made appearances in Just Wright, and voiced himself on The Cleveland Show.
What To Expect When You’re Expecting hits theaters in May, and is one of those ensemble movies featuring: Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez, Chris Rock, the teacher dude from Glee, the blonde chick from Reno 911!, the guy in the shorts from Reno 911!, the one with the bangs from Gossip Girl, that muscly werewolf from True Blood, the creepy female roommate from Bridesmaids, and even Tootie from Facts of Life. Yes, even Tootie.
