Drunk Florida Woman Tried to Run Over Ex, Hit Tree Instead

Unless Veronica Doctor also had some bad beef with a certain tree, her attempt at vehicular revenge was a failure.

Police in Collier County say that the Hollywood woman tried to run over her ex-boyfriend near a casino, but instead hit a tree. Her .259 blood alcohol level might have had something to do with that.

According to WINK News, Doctor had been drinking the night away at Seminole Casino over in Immokalee when she got an urge to go visit her ex. At about 2 a.m. on Tuesday morning Doctor drove over to his home in Immokalee on Friendship Drive and started honking.

The ex told police he heard the noise but knew it was Doctor. So he ignored it until he peeped out his window and saw Doctor driving around in circles on his front lawn. That's when he decided to go out to confront her about driving drunk.

The two got into a verbal argument, and the victim started to walk away. Doctor, however, chased him in her car and attempted to run him over. The man was able to get out of the way and Doctor instead hit a tree.

Police arrived and found that Doctor had trouble maintaining her balance, smelled of booze, had glassy eyes and slurred speech. Her astounding BAC level might not have been much of a surprise. She now faces DUI and aggravated assault charges.

And to think this all could have been avoided if the ex had just had an apple a day.
