Mariela Castro, Raul’s daughter and head of the Cuban National Center for Sex Education, announced yesterday that Cuba will reverse a ban on sex change operations on the communist island.
Castro has identified 19 individuals ready to undergo the operation, and said that the government will pick up the cost.
While the move generated some protest from those adverse to transsexualism, others complained that the economically challenged country shouldn’t have to foot the bill. Oh, the inherent flaws of communism.
