During a Wednesday night interview with Dave Rubin of the Rubin Report, DeSantis said drivers do not have to worry about hitting protesters in the street if they are trying to flee for their safety.
"You don't have to sit there and just be a sitting duck and let the mob grab you out of your car and drag you through the streets," the governor said.
Following DeSantis' appearance, Blue Lagoon Farm Miami near Homestead posted a meme on its Instagram account with a car running over people titled "All Lives Splatter."
"Nobody cares about your protest," the meme read. "Keep your ass out of the road."
The post was eventually removed. People have now taken to Google to write one-star reviews referencing the "All Lives Splatter" post.
I just, I cannot believe this is where we are in the year 2025…"This isn't edgy," one comment read. "This isn't just a meme. It's a vile, dangerous message that shows total disregard for human life, free speech, and the courage it takes to stand up for justice. Whether you agree with a protest or not, celebrating the idea of running over human beings is barbaric."

Another added, "Rethink your life decisions if you feel the need to basically threaten to run over peaceful protestors in your business page. Would never support a business this tone deaf."
In response to a comment about the political post, the business wrote, "We support the Governor of the Great Free State of Florida. He said that if rioters surround your car and you fear for your safety, feel free to drive away and the fault falls on the person blocking your car," the comment reads. You will only disagree with this until it's you in the car (with family) surrounded by lunatics wishing you harm. Grow a pair why don't you. Anyway, it's true: All Lives do Splatter."
After one person named "Rasheed" left a one-star review, the business responded, "Rasheed my brother.....Let me sing to you my new favorite song: Ice Ice Baby. Hahahahaha."
The business said in another comment, "You forgot the word 'Mostly' in front of peaceful. Hahahahahaha. You're a joke. Falling for the leftist media narrative of "mostly peaceful" protests. Get a life."
According to its Instagram bio, Blue Lagoon is an agricultural palm tree nursery and honey farm with a natural swimming lagoon.
New Times called Blue Lagoon to inquire about the Instagram post. "Not sure what you are talking about," the employee who answered the phone stated. "You can call back later. We are a bit busy right now," she said, before hanging up.
Editor's note: Shortly after this story was published online, New Times heard from Juan C. Gomez, who serves as the communications and marketing officer for the City of Homestead. "[I] wanted to kindly clarify that the business mentioned is not located within the City of Homestead," he wrote in an email. "Because this is a common misconception, we've created a dedicated page with information about the City, its boundaries, and other helpful resources for media professionals: homesteadfl.gov/728/Media-Resources."
Mr. Gomez is correct. Google, whose studly algorithm and bounteous geographical reach have bullied many a newsroom into bowing to its blunt force, places Blue Lagoon Farm Miami in Homestead. But it's actually located about four miles north of the Homestead city limits in the census-designated area known as Princeton. We have edited the story to reflect that incontrovertible fact.
