Can it still be cover a tribute band if the man you’re honoring is your father? Tribute band is a more fitting moniker for Zappa Plays Zappa. Formed in 2006 by the Late Frank Zappa’s son Dweezil and a host of relatively unknown musicians (many of whom backed Frank Zappa themselves), ZPZ has taken on the monumental task of recreating the works of a man who many consider among the greatest musicians of all time. It’s tough to live in that shadow, but Dweezil is doing a fantastic job by all accounts. Ticket are on sale now through Ticketmaster.
