Sharam, of Deep Dish, Plays SET on Friday

Washington, D.C.'s Grammy Award-winning production duo Deep Dish enjoyed unparalleled international success during their late-'90s and early-'00s heyday.

Much of the pair's universal appeal could be attributed to the healthy stylistic balance between Ali "Dubfire" Shirazinia's edgier experimental flair and Sharam Tayebi's hit-making pop sensibility. It was a special combination which saw them giving the likes of Madonna, Cher, and Fleetwood Mac a sleek and sultry contemporary EDM twist.

While Dubfire has continued to earn "underground" EDM cred for his minimal techno forays as a soloist, Sharam has gone the other way, making big-room pop house his focus since the duo's split.

His 2006 breakout solo hit "PATT (Party All the Time)" best exemplifies Sharam's booming fun-loving style, giving Eddie Murphy and Rick James' eponymous cheesy '80s classic a soaring anthemic makeover that exploded onto the charts and clubs from Miami to Ibiza that year.

Sharam continues to make waves in the commercial dance music scene. His 2009 debut solo album,

Get Wild,

counts among its collaboration credits names as eclectic and recognizable as Chuck D, Diddy, Tommy Lee, and Patsy Cline. SET nightclub in South Beach welcomes to world class DJ/producer for an exclusive performance on Friday night alongside resident Chicco Secci.
