Deftly switching between straight-forward rock harmonies and hardcore inspired growling, Senses Fail have cemented their place among the finest post-hardcore acts today. More than their layered guitar work and blast beat drumming, Senses Fail distinguish themselves from the hard indie rock crowd by actually putting thought behind their lyrics. SF songs often incorporate musings on Buddhist philosophy, Charles Bukowsky poems, and Joseph Campbell writings. It’s a far cry from the pedestrian “she loves me not” lyrics passed off as deep by many of their peers. Senses Fail are playing Revolution Live on October 15. Tickets go on sale August 6 through Ticketmaster. Hit the jump for a sample from their latest album.
