Support the independent voice of Miami and help keep the future of New Times free.

For the very first time in the history of  vaguely orange sugar drinks that turn your heart into an 8-volt battery, Red Bull Sound Select is coming to Miami. The concert series, which pairs national names with local up-and-comers, will host three days of music with headliners A$AP Ferg, AlunaGeorge, and Cashmere Cat.

To curate the event, which will take place September 1 through 3 at the Hangar, Red Bull reached out to local tastemakers Poplife, III Points, and YesJulz (who recently launched her own station on Dash Radio).

Red Bull has been expanding into Miami within the last few years. With an office in Wynwood, the company has thrown its very wealthy hat in the ring with events like last October's United States of Bass at Gramps, which brought Miami bass gods like Uncle Luke, DJ Laz, and Craze together with national talent like Egyptian Lover and TT the Artist.

The strategy will be similar with Red Bull Sound Select Presents: 3 Days in Miami.

On Thursday, September 1, headliners A$AP Ferg and Jazz Cartier will pair with frequent YesJulz collaborator and New Jersey rapper 070 Shake.

On Friday, Cashmere Cat will close the show while brother/sister duo Tennyson and South Florida's own Nick León contribute sets. A fresh face and III Points favorite, León recently released his debut album, Profecía.

The final day, Sunday, will bring AlunaGeorge (who we recently saw at Ultra), Xaviar Omar, and the Miami-based Steven A. Clark. Tickets are currently on sale for one or all three days, starting at $15 for Red Bull Sound Select members.

The concert will hopefully be the jolt Miami music needs to yank itself out of the slow, hot summer months and into the frenzy of shows that comes with fall and winter in Miami.

Red Bull Sound Select Presents: 3 Days in Miami with A$AP Ferg, AlunaGeorge, and more. Thursday, September 1, through Saturday, September 3, at the Hangar, 60 NE 11th St., Miami; 305-702-3257; facebook.com/Thehangar305. Tickets start at $15 via 3days.redbullsoundselect.com.
