You've read about them on New Times before. They've been touted as one of the coolest bands in Miami's local scene. You even voted them your Reader's Choice for "Best Band" in our Best of Miami issue this year. Now Radioboxer is giving fans a whole new look at the group, via this series of video shorts they created to promote their upcoming CD release party on August 15 (more on that to come).
The videos, directed by bassist J Dazza and his brother Diego, feature each of the band members as circus freaks, the perfect reference, J says, for the Traveling Band and a reference to the "constant movement of their perspective as time acts like distance."
"All this is good and true," says J. "But the bottom line is that we do all this crazy stuff because we get bored easily and we like to blow up shit and dress up."
Check them out for yourself. They're damned good fun. Oh, but handle with care.
Keep Miami New Times Free... Since we started Miami New Times, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Miami, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism.
