Support the independent voice of Miami and help keep the future of New Times free.

Poison the Well, the best metal/hardcore band of 2009 (as voted by Miami New Times) is playing a hometown-ish gig on August 22 at Culture Room. This date should be extra special, not only because of the whole homecoming after a brutal tour thing, but it's also the last show they have scheduled before taking a much needed rest in preparation of their European tour (which starts on November 2). That means anyone attending this show is almost certainly in for an almost unforgettable experience, as Poison the Well is known for high octane live shows which whip their hardcore faithful into a frenzy that can only be described as apocalyptic. Tickets are just $9.99 and can be purchased via Ticketmaster. Please note the video after the jump isn't an official PTW music video, but it should be.

Keep Miami New Times Free... Since we started Miami New Times, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Miami, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Miami with no paywalls.
