"Hey Miami!" Of Montreal exclaimed via Facebook the other day. "We're kicking off our US tour with Wild Moccasins at Grand Central!"
And boy, we were so hyped! Especially 'cause we'd just chatted with frontguy Kevin Barnes about the new album, Lousy With Sylvianbriar! And we'd even met Mr. Of Montreal's alterego, the beautiful Georgie Fruit!
But then we heard that Kevin and his psychedelic indie-pop crew had experienced serious automotive failure out there on America's highways. And canceled tonight's concert in the Magic City.
"Unfortunately," a Grand Central rep tells Crossfade, "their bus broke down and it's impossible for them to make it in time for tonight's show."
But the good news: "We have rescheduled for July 5. All tickets already purchased will be honored. And those that want refunds can request one."
And more good news: "Tonight's concert," Of Montreal's record label says, "will be the only show affected."
