Independent Journalism in Miami Needs You
We need to raise $10,000 by August 9 to support the reporting our community depends on. Reader support keeps us independent and is playing a larger role in funding local journalism and shaping what comes next. If you believe independent local journalism matters, make a contribution today.
Fans of anything Neil Young should plan on going to the Neil Young Tribute Show tomorrow at The Gibson Showroom. All proceeds from the event will be donated to Neil’s Charity, The Bridge School. You can expect performances and covers done by The Westar, Rachel Goodrich, Jacob Jeffries, Jim Camacho, Juke, Arboles Libres, King Bee, Dreams in Stereo, Ex-Norwegian, Bridget Davis, Sam Friend, Derric Bonnot, Derek Cintron and Nil Lara.
In other Neil Young news: It’s been confirmed that he’s recording a new studio album in Los Angeles with producer Daniel Lanois–who’s worked with U2 and Bob Dylan. It’ll be his first studio release since 2009’s Fork in the Road. Neil will also begin a solo North American tour on May 18, with support from Bert Jansch. Here’s hoping he makes a stop in the good ol’ Sunshine State.
A Tribute Show: Neil Young, at the Gibson Showroom, 180 NE 39 Street. Show starts at 7:30 p.m. $7. gibson.com
