Support the independent voice of Miami and help keep the future of New Times free.

When Slip 'N' Slide Records announced their 2008 Next Big Superstar Tour, artists from all over the country answered the call. But only one, Mike Bless aka Mr. Make It Happen, could win the title. Though there's a whiff of Flo Rida's breakthrough hit "Get Low" track-wise and Bless' staccato, twang-ed out, upbeat delivery -- hopefully Bless won't abandon us for a career in straight pop music like Flo did.

"Do it Like This" status as a strip club anthem is clear from the time you press "play," with a female vocalist declaring, "If I was a stripper I would do it like this." Click here to hear the track, and hit the jump to see footage of Bless' unanimous Next Big Superstar win.

Keep Miami New Times Free... Since we started Miami New Times, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Miami, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Miami with no paywalls.
