They took us on the “Stairway to Heaven” with their soft guitar riffs, gave us a “Whole Lotta Love” with their smokin’ apreggios, and then left us “Dazed and Confused” when Jimmy Page rocked the electric guitar with a bow. And for all of that, Led Zeppelin deserves a trophy.
Downtown Full Moon Party. With Locos Por Juana, Afro Kumbe DJ Music Set, Off Orbit, Warp9, and DJ Stingray. It’s a full moon tonight so bring out your drums, brush up on your fire-spinning skills, and free your inhibitions with Locos Por Juana in celebration of the lunar phase.
Bachaco Caribbean Summer Jam. Saturday, May 25, 10 p.m., PAX, 337 SW 8th St., Miami; 305-640-5847; paxmiami.com. $10. Named after the leafcutter ant, an insect that’s used to make salsa picante, the guys of Bachaco definitely live up to their name with their sonido caliente and “Cumbia Pa’ La Nena.”
Radioboxer. With the Vilifiers and Dama Vicke. Saturday, May 25, 10:30 p.m., Will Call, 700 NE 2nd Ave., Miami; 305-577-5900; willcallmiami.com. Free. Radio broke our hearts when they announced they were calling it quits. And although the Radio Drama will be no more, you can catch them one last time before they “Go Home.”
Conjunto Progreso. With Medicine Box. Saturday, May 25, 10 p.m., The Stage, 170 NE 38th St., Miami; 305-576-9577; thestagemiami.com. Free. These guys are The Masters of Cuban Son and have Grammy nominations to prove it. But watching their descargas is all the convincing you’ll need.
Loose Joints. With DJ Mr. Brown. Saturday, May 25, 11 p.m., Gramps, 176 NW 24th St., Miami; 786-752-6693; grampsbar.com. Free. Put on your dancing shoes and crank up the funk — Loose Joints are coming so you better get “love dancing” before they get “all over your face.”
Danay Suarez. Hosted by DJ EFFN. Sunday, May 26, 8:30 p.m., Blackbird Ordinary, 729 SW 1st Ave., Miami; 305-671-3307; blackbirdordinary.com. $10. Hip-hop is not the type of music you would normally associate with Cuba. Unless we’re talking about Danay Suarez. “The Cuban hip-hop culture is considered one of the best in Latin America for its socially conscious lyrical content, extraordinarily interesting sound, and use of sampling,” Suarez tells New Times. Preach on. Blackbird will mark her first performance on U.S. soil.
Salvation: the Rebirth. With Danny Bled, Essential 6, Ray Milian, Dracula’s Daughter, Dino, Vikerrious Vixen, and Silent K. Sunday, May 26, 10 p.m., The Garret at Grand Central, 697 N. Miami Ave., Miami; 305-377-2277; grandcentralmiami.com. $10. Local EDM is still very much alive, and we have our Miami DJ’s to thank for that. That’s why they’re uniting their beat-breaking powers to remind everyone of the rebirth of local uhntz-uhntz.

And if he, Wade, Bosh, and the rest of the Heat continue ballin’ as hard as they did Wednesday night, we’re pretty confident that the boys will (hopefully) win another bejeweled Championship ring. Cheer on el Heat with drink specials and other like-minded fans at the Hoxton.
