Just three months removed from her controversial appearance in a Burger King ad peddling fried chicken, Mary J. Blige has crawled out from "under the bed" and put that "mistake" behind her.

These days, she's feeling liberated. So much so, in fact, that's she's hitting the road with legendary '90s R&B superstar D'Angelo on -- fittingly enough -- the Liberation Tour.

The tour was officially announced this past Monday, with Billboard reporting that the two soulful singers had signed up for a co-headlining, 20-city trek.

At the time, however, only the first four dates were revealed; whether or not Mary J. and D'Angelo would make it down to Miami remained a mystery until last night.

"New dates have just been announced for The Liberation Tour with Mary and D'Angelo," a news bulletin on Blige's website read. "VIP packages are on sale now for Miami and include front row tickets, photo op, merch and more."

Photo Op? Yes!

On Thursday, August 30, The Liberation Tour makes a one-night pit stop at the American Airlines Arena. It'll be Blige's second performance in Miami this year, and D'Angelo's first in over a decade.

Earlier this year, Mr. D broke a 12-year performance hiatus when he embarked on a short European tour. For years, the singer battled drug and alcohol addiction, and nearly lost his life when he lost control of his Hummer.

"I didn't really think I had a problem like that," D'Angelo tells GQ. "I felt like, you know, all I got to do is clean up and I'll be fine. Just get in the studio and I'll be fucking fine."

After a surprise set at Bonnaroo last month and a critically acclaimed set at the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans, it seems that D'Angelo is doing "fucking fine" indeed.

The Liberation Tour. With Mary J Blige and D'Angelo. Thursday, August 30. American Airlines Arena, 601 Biscayne Blvd., Miami. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. and tickets go on sale Friday, July 13, at 10 a.m. for $49.75 to $109.75 plus fees via ticketmaster.com. Call 786-777-1000 or visit aaarena.com.
