John Legend and The Roots are each talented in their own right, and they’ve teamed up for a collaborative album called Wake Up! to be released next Tuesday. The album is a funky ’70s soul throwback, and takes direction from

legends like Marvin Gaye and Nina Simone. Special guest collaborators include Common, Black Thought, and Melanie Fiona. But John Legend wants to make this release fun.

He’s taken to his Twitter and Facebook accounts to give clues as to where he’ll be secretly stashing the album around the US before its release date. He takes funny photos, posts them to twitter, and adds a city hashtag for you to track it down. So far he’s attacked Baltimore, LA, and DC, so we’re hoping Miami might be next. But we don’t want you to wait that long.

Their video for the track “Wake Up Everybody” was directed by Gil Green, who was born and raised in Miami. You can watch their video for “Wake Up Everybody,” stream the entire album, and watch John Legend open up his own copy of the vinyl edition after the jump.
