Tired of paying an $8 cover charge to get into a nightclub and drink $6 beers? One cool alternative is Jacques Chirock Fridays, a new party over at Paco’s Tavern in North Miami Beach. Operating on the principle of free parties and fairly priced drinks, this is rapidly becoming a meeting ground for budget-conscious hipsters. Nobody will frown at you for wearing Malaysian Lacoste knock-offs whilst getting your dance on. The DJs, Ben and Patrick, do a good job spinning glam, surf, rock, mod, and Sixties garage cuts, and the owner, Paco, occasionally cooks himself a steak, adding its delicious scent to the smoky, dark ambiance.
