$7,500

He’s tried to find the “Road to Riches.” He’s made “The Return.” And now, local spitter J Nics is back with the third official video, “Never Be Free,” off his most recent slab, Champion Rizla.

A self-described “attack [on] the reality of political and socioeconomic bondage,” Nics riffs on living like a “slave for the money” while being bathed in luridly bright projections of mushroom clouds, bombed-out ghettos, the American flag, Saddam Hussein and George W. Bush saluting their troops, and other apocalyptic flashes.

See the cut for J Nics’s “Never Be Free” video, co-starring Reks, directed by Last Rights’ Joseph Cinnante and Up n Up’s David Cabrera, and edited by UnkleLuc.
