If you're observant, you may have noticed billboards and ads around town promoting a music festival called Holika. The festival will take place on March 8 and 9 at Island Gardens on Watson Island. It boasts an impressive lineup of Latin music heavyweights, including Yandel, Jhayco, Paulina Rubio, María Becerra, and Saiko.
So, is it legit?
New Times emailed the festival's organizers, who haven't responded to our inquiry about the Miami event. However, doing a quick Google search, you'll soon discover that Holika Festival is originally from Spain and takes place every June in Calahorra, located in the province of La Rioja, 200 miles from Madrid, in the northeast of the country. The March event at Island Gardens will mark its Miami debut.
The festival will run from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily, with Yandel and Jhayco headlining on Saturday and Paulina Rubio, María Becerra, and Saiko headlining on Sunday. Overall, performances will occur on one stage, with a VIP platform viewing area situated to the side. Food and beverage tents will be located at the back of the grounds and on the opposite side of the VIP area.
With its picturesque waterfront location, Holika offers VIP parking on Watson Island, but for convenience, shuttles will transport attendees from 1431 N. Bayshore Dr., 453 NE 15th St., and near the Adrienne Arsht Center Metromover Station.
VIP perks include elevated viewing areas, faster entrance access, and air-conditioned bathrooms. For an even more exclusive experience, VIP Platinum tickets include complimentary food and beverages, access to a networking lounge, and a special dinner event on March 7.
Families with younger attendees can take advantage of the children's music camp at the Miami Children's Museum on both days of the festival.
Beyond the music, Holika offers additional attractions, including a yacht and garage showroom on the festival grounds, creating a unique blend of luxury and entertainment for festival-goers.
