Not too many publications are knocking Franco De Vita’s door down for a glossy pictorial. Let’s face it — with a short and stocky build, receding hairline, and prize-fighter’s nose, the Venezuelan singer/songwriter doesn’t rank very high on anybody’s list of potential cover boys. Although he isn’t exactly a heartthrob, De Vita makes up for it with masterful piano playing and soothing vocals. Often compared to Elton John for his expressive delivery, De Vita’s impressive range and emotionally evocative voice make him one of the best live acts around. He may not shake his hips or offer kisses from the stage, but De Vita manages to make his music stand above all else.
