Drake Announces Miami Concert on Upcoming Summer Sixteen Tour

UPDATE: Drake has added a second Miami date to his tour. The rapper will be performing back-to-back shows, August 30 and 31 at the American Airlines Arena. General-public tickets go on sale Friday.

A week after he made us all sweat it out for a free T-shirt, Drake has announced that he will repay Miami with a concert on the upcoming Summer Sixteen Tour. Along with pal Future, Drizzy will make 31 stops that will start in Austin on July 20 and end in Vancouver on September 17.

Drake will perform at the American Airlines Arena on August 30 (the same day as Miami-Dade County elections), the tour’s only Florida stop other than Tampa, on August 27. Presale tickets are available today at 10 a.m., and general-public tickets go on sale April 29, the same day Drake’s upcoming Views From the 6 album is scheduled to drop.
Those looking to get a taste of Summer Sixteen a little early can see Future headline Miami’s upcoming Rolling Loud festival taking place May 6 and 7.

But if you want to see Drake himself, you’ll probably have to wait until August. If it’s anything like the five minutes he gave us at Rihanna’s Miami concert, it’ll be worth it.

Unlike those T-shirts. That was just stupid.

Drake. Tuesday, August 30, at the American Airlines Arena, 601 Biscayne Blvd., Miami. Tickets cost $45 to $175 via Ticketmaster.com
