The members of Above & Beyond are no strangers to celebrating in Miami. The British trance trio made up of Jono Grant, Paavo Siljamäki, and Tony McGuinness has been throwing annual parties here for a few years. And like previous installments, Above & Beyond's 2010 appearance will focus on Anjunabeats, the threesome's electronic label.
The A&B press machine exalts the two-room blowout at Ice Palace as "its biggest Miami event to date." And for their part, Grant, Siljamäki, and McGuinness will show off fresh material from upcoming sophomore album Group Therapy. Chief among the new arrivals is "Sun & Moon," a pensive, hazy single whose lyrical crux is both forlorn and ominous: "I'm sorry, baby/You were the sun and moon to me/I'll never get over you/You'll never get over me."
Top dogs aside, the Anjunabeats room will also feature a wave of predominantly European electronic artists: German two-pieces Cosmic Gate and Kyau & Albert, Finnish duo Super8 & Tab, and British progressive trance alchemist Mat Zo, as well as Canadian producer Soundprank and San Francisco production duo Gabriel & Dresden. The second room, meanwhile, will focus on the talent of Anjunadeep, an Anjunabeats spinoff, with Swedish producer John Dahlbäck, Brit and Way Out West member Jody Wisternoff, Desyn Masiello (another Brit), Argentina-based Electrobios, Australia-bred Jaytech, and London's James Grant.
If you're interested in these festivities and haven't yet purchased entry, you probably shouldn't loiter, because early-bird tickets sold out.
