Ernesto's Taco Shop is an authentic, locally owned Mexican fast-food joint with a menu filled with rare dishes such as tortas (Mexican sandwiches), menudo (cow stomach lining, available Saturday and Sunday), and tacos de lengua (beef tongue). Your favorite meals from late-night Taco Bell runs are here too, just much better: burritos, enchiladas, and chimichangas made fresh. One of the most popular combination plates is the "three amigos" — three tacos. No two homemade taco shells are the same, and they are substantial and crisp. Try a taco al pastor, meaning "shepherd-style," a marinated meat slowly cooked on a vertical rotisserie. The horchata — a sweet drink of rice, coconut, milk, and cinnamon — is excellent.
