Keep Miami New Times Free
We’re aiming to raise $7,500 by April 26. Your support ensures New Times can continue watching out for you and our community. No paywall. Always accessible. Daily online and weekly in print.
If you’ve ever loved your dinner so much you could write a love poem about it, this contest is for you. O, Miami, the month-long project by The University of Wynwood to bring poetry to everyone in Miami through a series of events, is looking for poetry about local restaurants.
Winning works will be printed on special placemats to be used in local restaurants during O, Miami’s month-long run in April.
Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink will also feature some of the poetry on special menus printed for the event.
To enter, choose your favorite restaurant in Miami-Dade and write a poem (any style) about it. The poem must be under 30 lines in length and keep it decent (think food porn, not straight porno). The deadline for submissions is March 22. Email your poems to restaurantpoems@gmail.com. For complete rules click here.
If you’re really brave, share a few lines of your entry here in the comments section.
