The holiday countdown is on, and if you’re scrambling for meatless meal ideas that’ll impress your omnivorous friends and family, look no further. Veganaroma is hosting a Happy Healthy Holiday Cooking class. Originally scheduled for December 13th, it’s been postponed until Saturday, December 20th.
They’ll teach you to make a meatless Shepard’s pie, an egg-less nog, a white bean and sun-dried tomato pate, and other goodies.

The class will be run by vegetarian/vegan chef Grace Augier and Veganaroma owner and nutrition coach Sabina Torrieri as a team.

“They can expect to learn how to make healthy vegan holiday meal. Then we eat it all together. We have a little Christmas party,” says Torrieri.
“They’re going to learn to cook a healthy meal instead of the typical Christmas meal they’re used to,” Torrieri adds.
“That’s our passion — to teach people to make a healthy meal and share it with their family and friends and spread the word.”
The course is good for omnivores and vegans alike, Torrieri assures us. “We are doing that more and more. We want to get those people that are not healthy into a healthier lifestyle.”
As far as the menu: “It’s really, really tasty. It can be for anybody.”
The vegan, organic, gluten-free menu for the class is as follows:
- Appetizer: White bean and sun-dried tomato pate served with celery sticks.
- Main course: Potato and spinach Shepard’s pie (papa rellena).
- Side: Spicy sesame string bean and grilled tofu salad.
- Dessert: Gluten free Italian panettone.
- Drink:Vegan egg-nog
The class is $70 per person, but bring a friend and you each pay $65. It runs from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, December 20, at Veganaroma, 3808 SW Eighth St. Call 305-444-3826 or email hello@veganaroma.com to reserve a spot.
