If you missed the chance to try the legendary sticky-bun doughnut at the Salty Donut a few months ago, don’t worry: They’re coming back to the Wynwood shop Tuesday, January 23, for almost two weeks.
Made through a collaboration with Knaus Berry Farm, this cinnamon roll stuffed inside a doughnut is larger, stickier, and richer than any other Salty Donut creation. It’s nearly twice the size of the shop’s regular doughnuts – which basically means it’s colossal.
Drenched in a roasted-pecan/toffee-rum glaze and topped with caramelized pecans, each one encases a famous Knaus Berry Farm cinnamon roll inside a thick layer of the Salty Donut’s signature 24-hour brioche dough. Then the whole thing is fried, baked, and garnished by hand at the shop.
The flavor debuted about three years ago and has made numerous appearances since then. It was in March 2016 that the Salty Donut and Knaus Berry Farm, both known for outrageously long lines, teamed up for the first time to make their most indulgent treat to date, which, naturally, resulted in even longer lines.

The creation has been a runaway success and become one of the Salty Donut’s best-selling and most requested doughnuts, according to founders Amanda and Andy Rodriguez.
Because of the doughnut’s labor-intensiveness, quantities will be limited. Priced at $6.50 each, they’re expected to go fast too. In years past, they’ve sold out every day hours before closing time. Unlike in previous years, there will be no purchase limit for customers.
