If there’s one duty we’re bound to in December, it’s celebrating. Thirty-one days of toasts to good cheer, good friends, and good food. It’s the best month of the year.
Really, any excuse to celebrate is a good one, and tonight you can celebrate the upcoming Taste of Brickell Food & Wine Festival with food, drinks, and fashion.

Though the full-on festival doesn’t kick off until March 29, 2014, think of this as a taste of things to come. The holiday shindig is setting up shop Thursday night at Mary Brickell Village with light bites, cocktails, chair massages, fashion shows, and a raffle.
“We have Porçao Farm to Grill, which is brand new. They’re going to be serving some of their grass-fed beef,” event organizer Cindy Bettner says.
There’ll also be bites by New on the Block, Oceanaire Seafood Room, Tapas Xperience, Balans, and Doraku Sushi. Plus, there’ll be drinks from Wines of Delibori Vigneti e Cantine, Papa’s Pilar Rum, Angels Envy Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey, and others.
The fashion show will feature getups from Mary Brickell Village’s boutiques, and there’ll be live tunes too.
“This is our launch event for Taste of Brickell. In December, we launch our ticket sales for the festival itself. This is kind of a holiday kickoff to create buzz for the event and let people know where it is and what it is,” Bettner adds.
The event runs from 6 to 10 p.m. this Thursday at Mary Brickell Village, 901 S. Miami Ave. Tickets are listed at $75 in advance and $95 at the door, but Bettner says they’ll likely offer discounted $50 holiday admission at the door. Visit tasteofbrickell.com.
