Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto hosted his first late-night SOBEWFF event last night, and it was a hit — a part pool party, part late night market.

Asian delicacies from top Miami restaurants were served, poolside karaoke with a cameo by a Food Network stars happened, along with flowing sake cocktails and Morimoto made everyone plates of sushi. In fact, he never stopped working the line. When Robert Irvine showed up, he fed him and took a few pictures, but immediately got back to business.

The only line in the place was for Morimoto, but everyone was happy to wait. An Iron Chef was personally preparing your plate of sushi!

Aside from Morimoto, top bites of the night were served by Richard Hales of Blackbrick, Timon Balloo of Sugarcane and Mama Pai of Khong River House.

Foie gras and spam don’t seem like they’d every go together, but Balloo pulled it off beautifully in a musubi.

Sean Mohammed of China Grilla made that perfect indulgent midnight snack, a lobster pancake.

Hales served a Chinese char siu heritage pork lao bing.

Khong brought the most heat with Burmese fresh noodle wraps with a lot of red chili and Sriracha inside.

The party was fun but reached a whole other level when celebrity chef Robert Irvine arrived just past midnight.

Irvine got Morimoto to shake his groove thang and then encouraged a fan to “spank it.”

Irvine also posed with all fans and showed his guns whenever possible.

Later, a woman’s husband convinced Irvine to join his wife on stage for her version of I Will Survive. He didn’t just survive, he killed it.
