With the Health Police out in full force these days, about the only thing you can smoke anymore is meat.
Luckily, you can still drink your troubles away while enjoying the last bit of smoke allowed to us: the brisket, ribs, pork shoulder, and chicken slow-smoked and basted with barbecue sauce at Smoke’t Southern Kitchen & Tap.
Every night from 4 to 7 p.m., the Coral Gables purveyor of fine ‘cue pours half-price booze and wine to go along with half-price bar apps. Then from 9 p.m. until you can no longer stand, it switches to two-for-one well drinks and draft beers. And if you’re a person of the female persuasion, every Wednesday from 3 p.m. till closing, you can get half-price frozen margaritas, signature martinis, wines by the glass, and appetizers.
If you want to smoke, though, you’re SOL, though you gotta admit that a big platter of smoky, tender, succulent St. Louis ribs is a whole lot better than SOS.
