What’s better than dinner and a movie? Beer and a mini film festival under the stars.
New Belgium Brewing’s annual Clips Beer & Film tour is making the rounds of 21 different cities and, for the first time ever, it’s coming to Miami — because we’re officially a beer town, y’all!
On October 24, from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m., Margaret Pace Park will host the event, which features nearly two dozen short films in a multitude of genres from documentaries to comedies. This year’s subjects include bananas, ultra marathoners, and a uniformed dude on a bike. Each short film was created by New Belgium fans and submitted to the brewery for inclusion into the festival. The winning filmmakers receive a special beer/trophy and the honor of having their short shown at the roving festival.

Of course, besides some great movies, there’s beer. Lots of beer. New Belgium is bringing their most interesting and rare beers for Miami film lovers to try. The beers include Wild Dubbel, FOCOllaboration IPA, Snapshot Wheat, Gruit, Gratzer, Le Terroir, La Folie, Ranger IPA, 1554, Trippel, Abbey, Blue Paddle, Shift, Tour de Fall, Cigar City Collaboration, Rampant Imperial IPA, and, of course, Fat Tire.
In addition, Ms. Cheezious food truck will be on hand to satisfy any case of the hungries you may have.
Admission to the Clips Beer & Film Tour is free, and beers are priced at $1.25 for a three-ounce sample and $5 for a 12-ounce beer, with proceeds benefiting Urban Oasis Project, a local nonprofit working towards the elimination of urban food desserts, educates and provides resources to the Miami community on growing edible landscapes within the city.
You can bring lawn chairs and blankets for movie time and dogs and kids are welcome (but you need to prove you’re 21 or over to buy beer). You can also bring your own snacks for a picnic, but you can’t bring alcohol (although water bottles are allowed and will be refilled for free at the event).
