Miami’s Best Eats and Drinks This Weekend: Mangoes, Barbecue, and Prana Party

Happy Friday! This was a short week for many of us, but the weekend is always welcome. Miami activities include a prana party (with cocktails and DJ), a barbecue and brew bash, and a celebration of all things mango.

Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden‘s International Mango Festival
It’s mango season, that time of year when the tart/sweet fruit literally falls from the sky all over Miami, and we get creative with mango smoothies, mango cocktails, and mango salsa. If you really want to delve into mango mania, head to Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden for its 24th-annual International Mango Festival. This year’s theme is “Mangos of Cuba,” which means you can try rare varieties from the island. Other mango-related fun includes cooking demos, gardening tips, mango tastings, and a mango auction. The festival runs from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission is $25 for adults, $18 for seniors 65 and up, $12 for children 6 to 17, and free for Fairchild members and children 5 and younger. Visit fairchildgarden.org/mango or call 305-667-1651.
Prana Party at the Wynwood Yard
If your world needs a little more Zen, get to the Wynwood Yard this Saturday, July 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. for a prana party. Yogini Shelley will lead a practice featuring beats spun by DJ Brett Sylvia. Then enjoy more music and superfood cocktails and snacks. Tickets cost $55 and include a cocktail, appetizer, and dessert. Additional cocktails are available for purchase. 
Free Coffee for Running and Cycling Groups at Le Marche Café
If you’re a runner or cyclist in need of a little post-workout refreshment, Le Marche Café invites you in for a free cup of coffee. The bakery, located inside the Habitat Residence Hotel (1700 SW Second Ave., Miami) in Brickell offers a free 12-ounce cup of Panther coffee (iced or hot) with the purchase of any food item. While you’re there, refresh with  juice or a smoothie or indulge in baked goods from Zak the Baker and Miam Café. 
Edukos BBQ & Brew Bash at Miami Beach Botanical Garden
This Sunday, July 10, beginning at 3 p.m., enjoy chef-driven barbecue paired with craft beers and cocktails. Edukos chef Jose Marmol will serve a Venezuelan-inspired meal paired with sparkling cocktails and four craft beer samples with live music. Garden tours will also be offered. Tickets cost $55, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Miami Beach Botanical Garden and Edukos, which plans to offer more pop-ups throughout the summer.
