If your vegan cooking skills are limited to tossing salads and pouring soy milk on cereal, it’s time to step things up a notch. You’re a grown ass person with fully functional motor skills — surely you’re capable of more.
Luckily, VeganAroma, the cozy little vegan eatery on SW Eighth Street, is willing to show you something a little more sophisticated. This Saturday afternoon, they’ll school eager pupils on how to make lasagna, kale quiche, chocolate mousse, and more.

The class will be run by vegetarian/vegan chef Grace Augier and VeganAroma owner and nutrition coach Sabina Torrieri. They’ll do demos with plenty of audience participation.

“They can follow with the recipes and they ask questions,” Torrieri said. They go through variations and substitutions, too.
Afterwards, a vegan smorgasbord. “Then we eat all together and it’s a lot of food!”

The cafe recently did a tasting table at a University of Miami medical conference, Torrieri said. “We brought the chocolate mousse and it was a hit. We had the longest line for this chocolate mousse! It’s so simple and it was so good.”
